An uncomfortable feeling is not an enemy.
It’s a gift that says, "Get honest; inquire."
We reach out for alcohol, or television, or credit cards, so we can focus out there and not have to look at the feeling. And that's as it should be, because in our innocence we haven't known how.
So now what we can do is reach out for a paper and a pencil, write the thought down, and investigate.

I have been doing The Work for about an hour and I read this. I reached out for one of my favorite distractions and the thought came to me, Can I love me for doing this? The answer is yes.

I just finished watching the video you made in Prison. My Mother did some counseling work at Vacaville Prison in the late 60's. Very powerful. I love the way the Work is so universal. hanks for being. Elizabeth
