Please join us in the New Year’s Cleanse and the April 9 Day School for The Work in Los Angeles, California.
The School for Leaders
February 24 – 29, 2008
Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Dearest Family,
On February 24th - 29th, 2008, Byron Katie International is extending its reach by inaugurating the School for Leaders. In collaboration with the 1492 Society for Growth and Renewal, BKI and its highly skilled staff will lead participants for five days of intensive discovery. Focusing on leadership and self-inquiry, this dynamic team will bring The Work of Byron Katie and leadership training together in a groundbreaking adventure that will shift the way you experience the world of business and change your whole life.
If you want to lead others, learn to lead yourself.
If you want to lead yourself, question your mind.
Most of us have experienced events in our lives, and specifically in our work environment, where our unquestioned mind leads us mechanically into reactions. We often do not notice our painful stories and are sitting in a cognitive prison, where we cannot see, hear, or feel what’s true. These unquestioned thoughts impede true, sustainable leadership, which is so essential in every kind of business environment, whether a small company or a large multi-national corporation.
We are living in the middle of a huge paradigm shift in business, where the traditional management schools are concentrating heavily on hierarchy, directing, and controlling. The School for Leaders focuses instead on exploring your limiting beliefs and on teaching you how to enhance the collective wisdom in you and your environment. By doing The Work at work, you will experience peace and clarity in your professional (and personal) life. This will manifest itself in greater confidence in your leadership ability, and increased creativity, productivity, decisiveness, and harmony in you and your colleagues.
True leadership is always based on non-violence and non-defense. Gandhi in his wisdom once said: “My people have changed direction; I am their leader, therefore I have to follow them.”
Can this be true for you?
This example offers you a glimpse into how much your present thinking aligns with this simple and powerful, non-violent leadership paradigm.
If you agree with the statement of the wise leader, join the School for Leaders. If you disagree, you are even more welcome to attend the School for Leaders and to notice your abilities to trust the process.
The School for Leaders offers you a journey into your limiting beliefs and the discovery of your natural ability to lead. You are invited to become skilled in doing The Work, so that your business and your life can open to a world of infinite opportunities.
I look forward to meeting you at the School for Leaders.
Gratefully, kt

Sweet Carol and Marjetica:;
Just some more angles for the turnarounds on this issue:
1.Companies may be paying all that money so these executives can go, and it sounds serious to them because it's costly. like it's in their ballpark and since they can afford it--they pay it.
2. These people may not have come otherwise. First, they may not think they need to work with their thoughts at all since they have prominant positions in society.
Now they need to pay attention strongly, be very focused, because it's costing them enough and they can't afford to sleep right through it.
2. I love that this money goes to Katie, she will put it to good use and she deserves it. From all the expenses big companies have, surely, this is one of the sweetest ones. Give them a chance to contribute to something good.
3. I enjoy the thought the someone may need to pay God a lot more for this teaching to come to them (and spend only 5 days with Katie instead of 9)and with us, love, a desire for truth and freedom, and a lot less money is required.
4. If you see yourself as a leader in your society you might want to see if you can arrange with Katie to come and deliver a similar course in your country
costing whatever is proportional over there. In America people in Key positions need (have)a lot of money (you know how much it costs to run for President in the US?) It's just how it is. Aren't you glad it's not the same everywhere?
5. In order for people to feel comfortable they need to feel like they are where they belong at first, so they can open up intimately, share same issues (rich and prominant people have issues as well), then after doing the Work perhaps they'll open to everyone else also. So perhaps it is a sort of a buffer as well.
6. The last school in the East coast (Conn) has delivered a lot to people who have much less and we made the whole street in New York City dance. Now, another segment of society is touched on the East coast. I love that Katie travels among all facets of society to deliver her message which is no matter who we are, we are good, we are able to be free and we can pass it on.
Love, Orly

Dear Marjetica:
What are your stressful thoughts about the cost of this workshop? "It's more than twice the annual uncome of many people in my country, and that means that..." ???
Are you thinking that people who need to go to this workshop won't be able to? That The Work costs too much? That you are going to miss something important? That there is something wrong with the world?
The tuition is about half of what I earned in total this year myself, which tells me it's not for me to be a paying participant at this course now, just as it's not for me to buy a million-dollar home this year, or health insurance (or even a visit to a doctor), or another pair of shoes.
It's time for me to do The Work, which is free.
We have this beautiful thing in common, you and I; we both love Katie and her work. Isn't it wonderful to have that, and to know what to do when something appears to threaten that love?
Love,
Carol

I have recently undergone a transformation of health and am using methods that you recommend to lead people to self empower and take some action on controlling their own health. I am not against modern medicine by any means but wish there was an integrative approach to healing so a lot of people would need less medications. MY doctors told me I would not heal and would get worse and to manage my pain at 35 years old. Now 10 months after learning about the mind/body connection I am pain and pill free and so grateful for my health. Thanks for your inspirational writings -- while ill and on forums about illness I found a lot of people that had given up and were on tons of pain pills. I had to lead myself and question myself to heal and am encouraging others to do the same. Gratefully, Jenny Mannion

As much as I LOVE Katie and her work ... I simply cannot comprehend the amount of money for the tuition ... This is more than annual income of many people in my country! What is with this world?!!! Katie???
It makes me really sad ...
